What is the difference between calibrated plywood and plywood?
Calibrated plywood is made with a thinner veneer and more uniform thickness. This makes it ideal for use in regular furniture production and for projects where an extremely smooth surface is desired, such as in cabinetry or countertops, interior designs etc.
Regular plywood may be produced with thicker veneer layers, with no regard to thickness and weight. It may also be manufactured with different materials or unknown wood species, instead of veneers from same wood species. This may may reduce its durability.
