Hydrothermal treatment is an eco-friendly, chemical-free process that uses heat and moisture (water or steam) to modify wood, enhancing its dimensional stability, durability, and resistance to decay. It is used in the plywood industry for treatment of logs before tinning by direct immersion in hot water to increase plastic properties of wood and create conditions for obtaining high-quality veneer. Hydrothermal treatment of plywood raw material is carried out by soft modes at water temperature in the basin of 40 to 45ºС.
