What are the 5 grades of plywood?

  • “A” Grade. Best Quality, Sanded smooth, paintable

  • “B” Grade. High Quality, Solid surface with some repairs, usually small patches and/or wood filler, Paintable

  • “BB” Grade. Very Good, Solid surface with some repairs, usually small patches and/or wood filler, Paintable

  • “C” Grade. Ideal Quality, Tight knots and additional defects

  • “D” Grade. Knots and knotholes and additional defects

B and C are preferred grades by all.
