Is birch the hardest wood?

According to the Janka hardness Scale, Birch has a Janka Harness rating of 1260, however, Birch is not the hardest hardwood. Hickory is rated at 1820 and Red Oak is rated at 1290 for hardness. The hardest hardwood is Brazilian cherry. The Janka rating is 2350.
